These three moms have been recognized for being young professionals who have given much to the businesses they work with and are the women to watch! Please help us in congratulating Leah Bojnowski, Sarah Reginelli, and Molly Gumpper!

Earth Day Celebration

The children of Club Fed celebrated Earth Day this year by displaying their beautiful recycled art work and our recycled sensory toys! At Club Fed we know our three R's: reduce, reuse, and recycle! Our art work included trees made from cups we drank out of for breakfast and lovely arrangements of flowers made out of objects such as, tissue paper, spoons, milk bottle tops, napkins, and feathers. Also, while doing so we connected this project to our life cycle curriculum! By the children of Club Fed using recycled objects in their art and their sensory toys we are helping to eliminate the build up of trash in our environment!

Week of the Young Child

Week of the Young Child at Club Fed was a huge success! The book drive which will fill our orange bookshelf outside the center is off to a great start. PLease stop by to take a book and see the beautiful pictures from our Club Fed families reading together as they take part in our Family Reading Partnership. On Wednesday, we had community members come in to read to children and are launching the orange bookshelf which will have free books on it for children to chose a book to take home and read with their families. On Thursday we had a balloon release. And on Friday, all children received a certificate to show that they have read 100 books since being in care with us since September. Thank you also to all of the parents who left kind words for our teachers for Teacher Appreciation Day on Tuesday!

Camps Mighty Redwood and Laurel Oak's Field Trip to the New York State Museum

What better way to extend the curriculum being taught in the classroom then to take a field trip to see what we are learning about firsthand! That is just what Camp Mighty Redwood and Camp Laurel Oak did! For the month of March we studied collections and even made our own geode rock collection. We then took a field trip to the New York State Museum so we could study the real collections, one of which was the geode rock collections, and ride on the carousel of course! It was a fun and enriching trip had by all. Thank you to the parents who joined us for the field trip, we could not do it without you all!

Cindy the Dental Hygienist and Her Helper, Rosie the Dog, Came to Club Fed!

Cindy, a Dental Hygienist, from Albany Pediatric Dentistry came to Club Fed to teach the children about dental hygiene as a part of Dental Hygiene Month. With help from her trusty assistant, Rosie the Dog, she taught children about how to brush their teeth, what the dentist office looks like, and even helped teach them how to count their own teeth! She and Roise were a big hit with the Pre-k, Pre-School, Toddler, and even Infant classrooms! Each child was also given a toothbrush bag filled with educational goodies to bring home to continue their great dental hygiene work!

Annual Christmas Party and Santa Came to Club Fed!

The children had an early visit from Santa when he came to Club Fed at our Annual Christmas Party. He gave candy canes to all of the children and had them take pictures with him. It was a fun event attended by all! The children also worked hard making Christmas treats to share with their parents and families. They also gave their families the Christmas gifts we made at Club Fed.
